Live on The Lawn Concert Series

Hillcrest “Live on the Lawn” concert series 2018

Not Church Music but Great Music at a Great Church !!

The Hillcrest “Live on the Lawn” series will be held each Sunday evening at 6:30pm for 6 weeks starting June 17th running through July 22nd.  The concerts are held on the front lawn at 818 E Norton Rd, Springfield.

The Series is free to the public and all are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, blanket and picnic dinner and don’t forget to bring a friend! The Music will cover the gambit from Bluegrass to Blues, Jazz to Rock & Roll and more.

We will be providing lemonade, ice water and popcorn at the event and taking donations. The donations will go to a charity of the band’s choice.  We also have restrooms and cooling facilities. No rain delays; we will just move it indoors.

This week: Blue Plate Special
Blue Plate Special came together for the first time in March of 2001 when they performed downtown for St. Patrick’s Day festivities. That tradition continues at Lindberg’s. Blue Plate Special plays a wide variety of music, generally within the blues and classic rock genres, along with a few originals. However, don’t be surprised to hear a stray jazz or country tune in the mix.
The band has performed at many festivals and events including Route 66 Festival, Firefall, Greater Ozarks Blues Festival, Winter Blast of Blues, C-Street Jam, Stomp the Blues out of Homelessness, Live on the Lawn as well as several local fundraisers and venues. This year will be the third year of playing Live on the Lawn and we appreciate the opportunity.
Members consist of:
Vern Morgan; lead guitar.
Cliff Jacobs; rhythm guitar, vocals, harmonica.
Pete Stevens; congas, keyboard, vocals.
Jimmy Sieber; bass guitar.
Lynn Barbour; drums, vocals.
Carl Yendes; trumpet
